Andrew Go

When I started at WagJag I met a TorStar veteran, Andrew Go that was brought in as VP of Operations when I took the role of VP Technology. I was immediately taken with Andrew’s professionalism and leadership. He was quick to understand the immediate challenges with WagJag and got to work setting goals. Five short months later Andrew was deservedly promoted to VP and General Manager of Torstar Digital.

Watching Andrew in his new role I learned to never lose sight of the overall health of the organization and the larger goal. It’s easy to get lost in the minutiae of projects and process. In the end, if the organization isn’t healthy overall in terms or profitability or growth it’s dying.

Andrew also impressed upon me through observation that keeping in touch with your colleagues and networking is a cornerstone of a successful career. He made sure to connect with each employee on a regular basis to get to know the organization better and get to know the people better.

Andrew makes a point of reaching out to connect and to bring together former colleagues. In the age of social media it’s important to ensure you forge a real connection in your relationships both personal and professional.

Andrew continues to lead with passion through his role of Senior Director of e-Commerce at Home Depot Canda and now Vice President Marketing at TD. I’m honoured to add Andrew to My52.
